About YP...
Young Professionals at The Beach (YPATB or YP@TB) was formed for ambitious individuals to network and develop the skills necessary to become the next business leaders on the beach.


Northwest Florida is flush with young, talented, hardworking and driven individuals that possess bulldog perseverance -- the characteristics we love to see in a coworker, colleague, teammate or business partner. However, given the national and local economy, Young Professionals need a platform to help them develop leadership skills and make the necessary connections that foster long term economic growth.


The YPs of THE Beach meet the aforementioned needs while “Bridging Social, Geographic, Political, and Economic boundaries across NW Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Board Spotlight

Cory J. Fosdyck - CFP®, CIMA®, CRPC®, CSNA

Cory is the branch manager of the Merrill Lynch office in Destin Florida. He also maintains a client base as a Wealth Management Advisor. He began his career at UBS PaineWebber with The Krueger Group in 2002. Cory is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, a CERTIFIED INVESTMENT ANALYST, and holds the CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLANNING COUNSELOR and CERTIFIED SPECIAL NEEDS ADVISOR designations. He received a Certificate in Financial Planning from Florida State University in 2005 and his CIMA designation from the University of California-Berkeley in 2008.

Cory is originally from central Illinois where he completed his bachelor’s degree and graduate studies at Western Illinois University. There, he received his Bachelors of Business and his MBA while serving as captain of the Division 1 Men's Basketball team. Cory received Academic All-Conference honors for four consecutive years and was the leading scorer and Team MVP for the 2000-2001 season. He holds the school record for ‘Games Played in a Career’ and is 3rd All-Time in ‘Three-Point Field Goals Made’.

Cory is actively involved in the Destin community. He has served as President of The Destin Toastmasters Club since its charter in 2003. Cory is a Board Member of the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, and currently serves as Chair of the Sponsorship Committee. He is a board member of the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce and a past board member of the Destin Area Chamber. Cory was one of four individuals that founded the Emerald Coast Emerging Leaders (ECEL) in 2004 and was the 2008 Chairman. He is a board member of the Young Professionals at THE Beach (YP@TB) and was the 2009 & 2010 Chairman. He served on the board of the Sandestin Lions Club for three years and has been an active member for seven. Cory is also an active member of the BUILD Council and Shoreline Church and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Northwest Florida State College teaching business and finance courses.

He was married in April of 2006 to his high school friend Hillary Erdmann and has a son named Nash born in October 2011. In his free time, Cory enjoys Traveling, Boating, Golf, Tennis, Football, Basketball, and Softball.
